Do you serve food or drinks?

No. At this time we do not serve any food or drinks.
Food or drink of any kind is strictly prohibited inside the building. That includes bottled water.
"If it goes in your mouth, it's not allowed inside." This also includes chewing gum and absolutely applies to adults as well as kids.
Do you have an age limit?

We have no age limits. Very young children can still enjoy the experience even if they can't play and children 3 and under are free with the purchase of at least one General Admission. Children 3 and under must use the plastic putters provided. They will not be allowed to use a standard putter.

Players 15 years of age and under MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
Jurassic Golf is a fun place, but it is not a playground.

PLEASE NOTE: Children MUST remain alongside their parent/guardian, at all times! Running/jumping around, replaying holes repeatedly, disrupting other players, etc. is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

What are the rules?

As far as the game itself goes, the general idea is to get the ball in the hole in as few strokes as possible. There is a firm limit of six (6) strokes (putts) per player per hole regardless of age. If a player fails to get their ball in the hole in six strokes, they must pick up their ball and move on to the next hole. Please allow groups faster than your own to play through. (let them go ahead of you.)

Only ONE BALL can be "in play" at a time. This means that once you tee-off, your turn IS NOT OVER until your ball is either in the hole or you've putt six times; whichever comes first. This avoids unnecessary congestion on the course and allows your game to go smoothly and fairly.

PLEASE NOTE Putters and balls are provided by us. In order to prevent accidental damage to your property and ours, players may not bring their own equipment.

If the ball leaves the playing area, the player must place it back at the point where it left and take a 2 stroke penalty. NO do-overs.

The holes are always played in order 1-18.

There are a few House Rules that all guests are required to abide by. Click here to read them.

You can read the official rule book of the United States Professional Mini Golf Association (yes, that exists.) Here. (pdf)

How long does it take to play?

The length of play depends on the skill of each player, the size of the party, and the joviality of the group. A rule of thumb is that a good player can average less than a minute a hole. A bad player can take up to 2 minutes per hole. Since we have 18 holes it takes about 15 to 30 minutes per player.
Depending on how crowded we are at the time, a couple can play a leisurely game in about 45 minutes. A group of 4 is about an hour. Younger kids tend to play rather quickly. On crowded days, this can take longer. Be advised: All games end thirty minutes after scheduled closing time, regardless of how far along you are. All admissions are non-refundable. Rain Checks are not issued for games cut short by closing.

Please allow groups faster than your own to play through. (let them go ahead of you.)
Do I need to make a reservation?

No. Admission to the course is sold on a first-come-first-served basis.

However, if you are with a large group (more than 20 people) we do ask that you call at least 24 hrs. in advance and leave a message to let us know when you plan on being here so that we can make any necessary staffing arrangements. Large groups are not admitted within 30 minutes of closing time.
Can I book a special event or party?

You can call or come in to make arrangements for church groups, schools, civic organizations, businesses, etc.
We currently do not offer birthday party packages of any sort. However, you are quite welcome to celebrate your special day with us! Just come on in with no reservation needed! We do ask that if you have more than 20 people in your group, you call at least 24 hrs. in advance and leave a message with your contact information to let us know when you plan on being here so that we can make any necessary staffing arrangements.
PLEASE NOTE:
We do not have a party room or venue.
We cannot hold items behind the counter or in the lobby.
Food or drink of any kind is NOT ALLOWED inside the building.

Do you offer military or senior discounts?

Absolutely! Active or retired military personnel, active police, fire, or EMT personnel with ID, and individuals over the age of 55 are eligible for a $1.00 off discount per General Admission purchased. (Discounts are not applicable to kids admission.)
Follow us on Facebook for updates on special price sales, etc.
Is the course wheelchair/stroller accessible?

Our facility is ADA compliant in that the building, exits, and restrooms are wheelchair accessible. However, only a few of the 18 holes are easily playable by someone in a wheelchair.

Standard-size strollers are usually not a problem at all.

Can we bring our dog in?
No. Non-service animals are not allowed.
A “service animal” is defined by the ADA as “a DOG that has been individually trained to perform tasks for an individual with a disability.”
Dogs, cats, horses, ocelots, alpacas, cows, badgers, alligators, kangaroos, crocodiles, birds, lemurs, and other animals whose sole function is to provide comfort, companionship, or emotional support do not qualify as service animals and are not permitted inside Jurassic Golf even with a doctor’s note.
Misrepresenting your pet as a service animal negatively impacts the quality of life and independence for service animal users. Under Alabama law, it is illegal to fraudulently misrepresent your pet as a service animal.

Are there any loud noises, flashing lights, etc.?

Not really:

Each room has different thematic background sound effects that relate to the scenery in that room. This includes but is not limited to computer sounds, dinosaurs growling, some loud roars, birdsong, the occasional human voices, etc. There are no sudden loud bursts of sound (such as explosions.)

As for lights, the entire course is lit with over 200 blacklight fluorescent tubes on the ceiling. There are multiple CGI effects screens displaying thematic effects. At the present time, we have two animatronic dinosaurs; one of which is a very large Tyrannosaurus Rex that moves in place, opens its mouth, and roars loudly. We may occasionally have projections on the walls. There will eventually be gently swirling "water effect" lights in the "Aquarium" section of the course. In the unlikely event of a power failure, emergency lights will guide you to the front lobby/exit.

All this being said, persons with light or sound sensitivity should proceed with caution and use their own best judgement. If upon entering, you feel you will be unable to complete the course, simply see the front desk attendant for assistance.
We are now able to make special group appointments for silent games for sound/light-sensitive persons in either blacklight (dark with fluorescent glow effect), white light (standard fluorescent), or both (slight glow effect with mostly white light). Call for details.
